it made me very stressed to see it in such a state that one day while on the mower.. i mowed the whole thing down, besides the sweet corn and potatoes and the surrounding weeds.. and i believe the watermelon and strawberries survived as well, but they too have a weed buffer around them.
but the rest.. gone. it felt good at the moment, but now the weeds are higher than ever.
this morning God lead me to read Jeremiah 4:3-4 in my ESV. "break up your fallow ground, and sow not among thorns. Circumcise yourselves to the Lord; remove the foreskins of your heart."
so i looked it up in an online commentary, to just get another perspective here's what it said...An unhumbled heart is like ground untilled. It is ground which may be improved; it is our ground let out to us; but it is fallow; it is over-grown with thorns and weeds, the natural product of the corrupt heart. Let us entreat the Lord to create in us a clean heart, and to renew a right spirit within us; for except a man be born again, he cannot enter into the kingdom of heaven.
how's your garden today? mowed over? there's hope in these verses.. lots of it. hope for a fruitful and abundant life.. IF your garden is properly cared for.
